How do the NDAA changes affect copays for Active Duty family members?
If you are an active duty family member enrolled in TRICARE Prime, you no longer have copayments for the healthcare you receive from civilian network providers as of April 1, 2001. The exceptions are pharmacy, Point-of-Service (POS) and services under the Extended Care Health Option (ECHO).
Remember, TRICARE Prime program requirements still apply. Your Primary Care Manager (PCM) must certify (authorize) any care you receive from another healthcare provider. Otherwise, you must pay a deductible of $300 per person or $600 per family and a cost-share of 50% of the TRICARE maximum allowable charge after you meet the deductible.
