What is meant by the term "accepting assignment" on a claim?
By "accepting assignment," a doctor agrees to accept the TRICARE maximum allowable charge as payment in full and to write off the difference between TRICARE maximum allowable charge and the billed charges. Doctors who accept assignment also agree to file claims for the beneficiary.
