Use the below information as a helpful reference when billing.

Billing Tools

• Effective January 1, 2006, Medicare requires the use of a Core-Based Statistical Area (CBSA) code in block 39 of the UB-04 claim form for Home Health Agency Prospective Payment System (HHA/PPS) claims. All HHA/PPS claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2006 should no longer use the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) code when submitting claims to TRICARE. See HHA provider tips or the Medicare HHA calculator
